Alterations Made With Love

A step-by-step guide, for the soon-to-be bride.

“Your dress should feel like it was made just for you—because with us, it is.”

Bridal Alterations

  • Step One

It all begins with a dress…and a consultation. The initial booking for your alterations should be made 10-12 weeks prior to your appointment. This timeline helps you, and us, as we dive deeper into the perfect fit. A number of things can change between the time you get your dress and your wedding date, so we eliminate that by having a proven schedule.

Before you arrive, you need to bring TWO important items other than your dress:

    Your shoes.

    Your undergarments.

These two items will make or break the entire fit of your gown. Your shoes are important for the hem, but also everything up from the floor. Your undergarments are important for the overall fit and bust.

Once we welcome you into your private hour, we will introduce ourselves, have your try on your dress, and begin our work. We will take initial measurements, take photos as needed, and ask you about all of your preferences. A wedding dress is only YOUR wedding dress if it fits accordingly, and without alterations, it is just a dress.

  • Step Two

Once you have completed your consultation, we have already started the work on your dress. Your second appointment will be scheduled after the first round of alterations.

During this appointment, you will again try on the dress to view the work we have done, but this time is very important for us as we again take more photos, more measurements, and a closer look at the details required to further improve your dress.

  • Step Three

Now we have come to the final adjustments of your gown. At this point, you are seeing a drastic change and realizing why professional, custom alterations are so important to your big day.

During this appointment, we will continue to pin and make minor adjustments to your body. Sometimes the body changes within a couple weeks of your wedding, so we are here to navigate those changes and make sure that your dress is ready for them! Once this appointment in concluded, you can rest knowing that your dress will be perfectly YOURS.

  • Step Four

By your 4th appointment, your dress is, most times, ready for pickup. Very intricate designs and reconstructions may take more than four appointments, though that would be discussed during the previous appointments to ensure all parties are on the same page.

Your dress has now been transformed into THE dress and is ready to be paid for and taken home. All pressing and bagging has also been completed, ensuring you are ready to put it on and GET MARRIED.

We take pride in not charging customers until the fit is perfect for you and you are thrilled to wear her on your most important day!
